Constructive News for Pandemic Recovery

Journalism and journalism research for a strong, resilient recovery from COVID-19.

This is the legacy website of COJO Against Covid, an action research project running between January 2021 and September 2022 to investigate how constructive journalism (COJO) can help Covid-19 pandemic recovery in local and regional areas of the UK.

COJO – known mainly by its key form, solutions journalism – is a rigorous evidence-based reporting framework and toolkit that shifts the focus from the problem to the solution in order to inform, inspire and empower people in the face of social issues and challenges.

In this project, journalists and journalism scholars joined forces to organise a UK-wide COJO Against COVID campaign across the UK and, through that, to investigate how COJO can support pandemic-wounded local/regional communities in their transition to the “new normal”.

We recommend visitors to visit the Training Centre, Story Collection and Research Reports sections, which have been revised and adjusted to the needs of post-project users.
